Privacy Policy
Haps ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by 16104827 Canada Inc., a federally incorporated Canadian corporation. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Haps mobile application (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address or phone number for authentication purposes. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from those providers.
Location Data: With your permission, we collect your device's approximate location to show nearby happy hour deals. We do not store your coordinates on our servers and we do not share your precise location with third parties.
Venue Visits: If you are signed in and you open a venue's detail card while you are within about 50 metres of it, we record that you were at that venue and when. We store the venue and the time — never your coordinates — and at most one record per venue every four hours. This happens only while the App is open on that venue; we do not track you in the background, and we record nothing for signed-out users. You can ask us to delete these records at any time (see Your Rights).
Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the App — including the venues you view, the favourites you save, your filter and display preferences, the searches and questions you enter, and general activity such as features used and screens visited. We use this information to operate, troubleshoot and improve the App. Depending on the activity, these records may be associated with your account or with your device.
Device Information: We collect device type, operating system, and push notification tokens to deliver notifications you've opted into.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalize the App experience (showing nearby deals, saving your favourites and preferences)
- To authenticate your account and maintain your session
- To send push notifications you've opted into (flash deals, new venues, events)
- To operate, analyze, troubleshoot and improve the App. Some analytics records may be associated with your account or device rather than fully anonymized. We do not sell this information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Supabase (database and authentication hosting)
- Mapbox (map rendering and directions — receives approximate location for map display)
- Apple / Google (push notification delivery via APNs and FCM)
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers operated by Supabase, hosted in secure cloud infrastructure. We use row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
5. Your Rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for location access or push notifications at any time through your device settings

6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users aged 19 and older (legal drinking age in Ontario). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 19. If we learn we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
